Type Locality and Naming

Along the Lalyimkan, Southwestern Gissar. Kh.Kh.Mirkamalov, 1971 (51, p.66). Stratotype - section of well 11, Lalyimkan (Tübegatan ridge). Upper formation in Okuzbulak Gr. Corresponds to the upper part (lagoonal) of the Okuzbulak Gr or the upper part of the Upper Okuzbulak Fm according to S.N. Simakova. (55; 415; 452).

Synonym: Lyalimkanskaya Formation, Лялимканская св., Lyalyimkan Fm

Lithology and Thickness

Siltstones, red and gray clays with interlayers of limestones and gypsum. Thickness 25-70m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Conformably overlies the Kundalyangtau Fm

Upper contact

It is conformably overlain by the Kaligrek Fm.

Contains foraminifera - Milliammina kuznetzovae S. Mam., M. micra S. Mam.; ostracods Antepaijenborchella praealta turkmenica Andrv.; complex of spores and pollen.

Belongs to the upper part of the Lower Aptian; in the Strat. Sl. (446) - to the Barremian - Aptian; to the Lower Aptian (55). According to A., it is attributed to the Barremian and is included in the Okuzbulak Fm (Okuzbulak Gr).
